OptiSail: Retrival of Biosphere Parameters
OVERVIEW:
OptiSail is a biosphere retrival algorithm.
Given the top of canopy reflectances (TOC) it determines biosphere and soil parameters.
It is based on the leaf reflectance and transmittance model Prospect and the plant canopy reflectance model Sail. A simple soil reflectance is included as well as a thin cloud parametrisation.

OptiSail is used in the
ESA CCI+ vegetation parameters project
to provide LAI and fapar.
